CHILD STUDY-REFERRALS

If a child is suspected of having a disability, the child should be referred to the chairperson of the CHILD STUDY COMMITTEE at the local school, or to the principal, or to the director of special education in the local school division.

The referring party will provide pertinent information about the child, and the reason(s) for the referral. The Child Study Committee chairperson will schedule a meeting of appropriate people to discuss the referral and perceived needs of the child.
