Welcome to Waddell Elementary School. I am very proud of our school and our students. Waddell is a special place for children to learn. We have an excellent staff dedicated to academic success, and to social and emotional development. Learning occurs naturally for children. We provide our students learning opportunities in many varied settings and situations. All students are taught at their appropriate level on the educational continuum. We maintain high standards and expectations for all of our students. We realize that education begins at an early age and that parent cooperation and communication are key in successfully educating students. Therefore, we provide a challenging curriculum which includes parent and community involvement.

Waddell Elementary School Mission Statement (Revised in 2003 as part of SACS continuing Accreditation)
The mission of Harrington Waddell Elementary School is to create and nurture a community of life-long learners by providing progressive educational opportunities and challenging experiences that are responsive to the needs and talents of all students.
Belief Statements · Each student is a valued individual with unique physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs. · A student’s self-esteem is enhanced by positive relationships and mutual respect among and between students and staff. · Students learn in different ways and should be provided with a variety of instructional approaches to support their learning. · Students learn best when they are actively engaged in the learning process. · Curriculum and instructional practices should incorporate a variety of learning activities to accommodate differences in learning styles.
