Introduction

Are you interested in adventure and world travel? Here’s your chance to learn about amazing and exciting countries. When you have completed this WebQuest you will be an expert on the food, flag, geography, money, language, and sites of interest of one of our world’s remarkable countries. Your project might even encourage others to be world travelers. So pack your bags, get ready to jet around the world, and don’t forget your passport!

Task

Your task will be to create a travel brochure for a country that you would like others to visit. Your brochure should include information about the food, flag, money, language, sites of interest, and geographical information about your country. You will want to include graphics that support this information and will persuade others to visit your country.

Process

  1. Choose three countries that you would like to learn more about.
  2. Conference with your teacher to narrow down the three choices and pick your final country.
  3. Visit the websites listed under Resources to collect information and images for your brochure. Be sure to cite your sources.
  4. You may need to use Google image search to find images of your country’s money and food.
  5. Create your brochure with the information you have collected. Text must be your original composition. You may NOT copy and paste from the Internet sources.
  6. Print your brochure and ask the teacher to run copies for your classmates.
  7. Be prepared to present your brochure and act as an Ambassador for your country. You should practice your presentation and be prepared to answer questions from your teacher and classmates.

Conclusion

Congratulations! You are now a world traveler. You have become an Ambassador for your country and have developed an appreciation for the customs and culture of a country other than your own. Based on your classmates’ presentations, what country, other than the one you researched, would you most like to visit? Well, what are you waiting for?
